CLASS NEWS

Attention Seniors – Check the list on Ms Marshall’s Door B303. The list is of ALL the seniors that DID NOT turn in a senior picture for the yearbook. See Ms Marshall to make arrangements to have your picture submitted.

Seniors, Mrs. Courtney and a representative from MASSEDCO will be available after school Wednesday, January 9th to assist you with college and scholarship applications. Please report to the Alden Academy office.

CLUBS

Calling all stage hands, sounds, ands lights people and future DJs! The A/V Club is off and running. We will be meeting Wednesday January 9th, right after school in the auditorium. The A/V club will familiarize students on the use of stage lighting , sound control and DJ equipment, including various types of video equipment. The club is open to anyone interested, no experience is necessary. For more information, please see Mr. Torres in room C309

The Human Rights Club is starting a New Sock drive for homeless veterans of Worcester all month! Please bring in new pairs of socks to donate to the drop box in room D430

Knitting is Today after school til 3pm in RM A157 with Mrs. Caplan supplies are free!

Model UN will meet today after school from 2-2:30 in room D343

Interested in writing a book? Join writing club! Writing Club is this Thursday from 2:00pm -2:45pm in room C340. Supplies will be provided.

GENERAL

“It’s Time to Take A Stand” : Please join us after school today from 1:45- 3:45PM to watch the “Bully” movie as part of our “Stand For the Silent” program in the auditorium. All are welcome and must sign in and complete an exit slip at the end of the movie. Students who participate may also use this opportunity for detentions, attendance and Buy Back

The History Department will be showing the movie Amistad after school on Wednesday, January 17, in the library. You will need a permission slip to attend if you have not previously brought one in. This will be the last chance for extra credit for 2nd quarter in your history class.

GUIDANCE

Saturday Buyback is Saturday in the Library. Students attending must report to the main lobby by 8am with school work. See Mr. Healey or your guidance counselor with questions.

SPORTS

Good luck to the boys’ basketball team as they travel to play at Assabet JV game starts at 5:00pm with the varsity to follow.

Friday, January 11th will be the WINTER SPORTS TEAM PICTURE DAY in the Gym right a 2 pm SHARP! Winter Coaches please notify your athletes to be dressed in uniform and in the gym at this time so that the picture process will run smoothly. Order forms will be distributed to the coaches shortly.
