Join the Tech Book Club for a Silent Reading Party after school on Tuesday April 25. We’ll be meeting behind the caf at 2 for an afternoon of reading and snacking in the great outdoors. We’ll have blankets, chairs and some treats; you bring your own book and some snacks to share. Rain location will be the library. All are welcome to get their read on!

Field trip to Sturbridge Village Saturday April 29th the cost of the trip is $10 see Mr. Metivier in C338 for a permission slip or your history teacher, we will be leaving at 8:00 and returning at 4:00.
Attention freshmen, sophomores and juniors: We will have an election on Tuesday, April 25 for WTHS’s representative for the 2017-18 Student Advisory Committee to the School Committee. If you would like to be on the ballot and run to be our representative, please let Ms. Stockwell know, by email or in B332 by Monday, April 24 at noon.
ATTENTION: Juniors and 16 year old Sophomores
The Worcester Community Action Council is again offering a summer jobs program to students who are eligible. To qualify for the program you must have free or reduced lunch status. They are strongly recruiting “First Time Applicants”.
They will be here in the auditorium on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 during Period 1 for any Sophomore or Junior who is 16 years of age or older.
In order to attend the informational meeting, you must see Ms. Blute in the Workforce Development Office for a pass with verification of free or reduced lunch status. You will not be allowed to attend the session without this pass. This will be the only opportunity to meet with the staff from the summer jobs program for this school year.
Attention Juniors: This is a reminder for those who are in academics during Z week and are registered the ELA Accuplacer will take place when you return from vacation on 4/25 & 4/27. If you are scheduled for 7:30 check into homeroom and then go to your test location. If you are scheduled for 11am go to lunch first and then arrive at your test location at 11.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY/STUDENT COUNCIL
The student council will once again be collecting books for the “Worcester: the City that Reads” children’s book drive campaign. This successful program has helped stock our school libraries, and provided thousands of books to WPS students for summer reading. We ask that you drop off new or gently used books in the wooden box located just outside the main office. Donations will be accepted through May 12th.

On Tuesday the boys defeated North High in an exciting come from behind 3-2 win!
Cooper Nyanue had 9 kills and 3 blocks, Christian Santana had 3 aces 6 kills and 2 blocks, Isaac Quiles had 5 kills and 10 assists. On Thursday the boys defeated Burncoat 3-1 Josh Falero had 10 service points and 5 kills Chris Jobe had 4 kills.
The volleyball record is now 4-1 and they host 3 home games this week – today vs. Abby Kelley at 3:30
