Painting and Design

Painters apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to buildings and other structures. They read work orders or get instructions from their supervisors. If they are self-employed, painters talk to homeowners and other customers to find out what they want. Self-employed painters often prepare cost estimates for customers before they are hired for a job. This program trains students in the fundamentals of interior and exterior residential and commercial painting and decorating. Students are instructed in the proper use of a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment which enables them to perform jobs in a cost effective and competitive manner.
